{"id":604,"date":"2025-06-10T08:38:55","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T08:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/etangonam.com\/?p=604"},"modified":"2025-06-10T08:38:55","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T08:38:55","slug":"development-bank-of-namibia-continues-to-recognise-good-business-and-innovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/etangonam.com\/?p=604","title":{"rendered":"Development Bank of Namibia Continues to Recognise Good Business and Innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) has once again honoured enterprises that have demonstrated excellence in innovation, sustainability, and contributed to Namibia\u2019s socio-economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DBN hosted the 2025 Good Business and Innovation Awards on 19 May, under the theme <em>\u201cCelebrating Innovation and Impact\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Good Business and Innovation Awards continue to serve as a platform to promote and celebrate the enterprises that are essential to Namibia\u2019s national development. With this year\u2019s theme, DBN reaffirmed its commitment to promoting innovation as a cornerstone of economic resilience and social impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delivering the keynote address on behalf of Vice President Lucia Witbooi, Finance Minister Ericah Shafudah, underscored the government\u2019s commitment to enterprise-led growth and industrial innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She also acknowledged the DBN\u2019s pivotal role in fostering inclusive economic empowerment and nurturing a culture of innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs we embark on a renewed journey of nation-building under the leadership of President Nandi-Ndaitwah, we are reminded that inclusive growth and innovation are not just aspirations, they are imperatives,\u201d said Shafudah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Development Bank of Namibia\u2019s Good Business and Innovation Awards reflect this national vision by honouring enterprises that build sustainable industries, create lasting jobs, and drive transformative impact across communities,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also speaking at the awards ceremony, DBN Deputy Board Chairperson, Willy Mertens, reflected on the development bank\u2019s two-decade journey in advancing Namibia\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor two decades, the Development Bank of Namibia has been a steadfast partner in building a resilient and inclusive economy,\u201d he said. \u201cToday, we celebrate enterprises that mirror the Bank\u2019s commitment to sustainable development, those that are not only creating jobs and enhancing productivity but also pioneering innovative solutions in sectors vital to Namibia\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Award Categories and Winners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The awards recognised outstanding achievements in three categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Good Business Awards \u2013 SME Category<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Winner:<\/strong> Blue Crane Safaris Namibia CC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>First Runner-up:<\/strong> Ongula Homestead Group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Good Business Awards \u2013 Large Enterprise Category<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Winner:<\/strong> OLC Arandis Solar Energy Corporation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>First Runner-up:<\/strong> Quanta Holdings (Pty) Ltd<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Innovation Award Category<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Winner:<\/strong> Lizwise Investment \u2013 for its groundbreaking Mahangu Pasta innovation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>First Runner-up:<\/strong> Wapa-Nawa Recycling Centre<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Second Runner-up:<\/strong> AUDAX Coatings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DBN\u2019s Acting Chief Executive Officer, John Mbango, congratulated all winners and finalists, saying the \u201cawards honour the ingenuity, resilience, and determination of Namibian enterprises that are not only creating jobs and value, but also redefining what\u2019s possible through innovation and enterprise development\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Winners received cash prizes of N$150,000 (SME category), N$250,000 (Large Enterprise category), and N$400,000 (Innovation Award), underscoring DBN\u2019s ongoing commitment to incentivising sustainable growth and entrepreneurial excellence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) has once again honoured enterprises that have demonstrated excellence in innovation, sustainability, and contributed to Namibia\u2019s socio-economic development.
