{"id":957,"date":"2026-06-10T12:05:48","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T12:05:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/etangonam.com\/?p=957"},"modified":"2026-06-10T12:05:48","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T12:05:48","slug":"inaugural-african-green-industries-summit-2026-set-for-swakopmund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/etangonam.com\/?p=957","title":{"rendered":"Inaugural African Green Industries Summit 2026 Set for Swakopmund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first African Green Industries Summit (AGIS) is scheduled to take place at the coastal town of Swakopmund from 9 to 10 September 2026, under the theme <em>\u201cPowering African Industries for Sustainable Development.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The summit, hosted by NEA Consulting in collaboration with key government and industry stakeholders, builds on the success of previous platforms such as the Global African Hydrogen summit \u2014 which played a pivotal role in establishing Namibia\u2019s green credentials internationally \u2014 while expanding focus to broader green industrialisation, including renewable energy, infrastructure, and sustainable manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AGIS 2026 is expected to bring together policymakers, investors, industry leaders, and development partners from across Africa and beyond to engage in high-level dialogue, investment discussions, and partnership development. The summit programme will include leadership roundtables, project pitching sessions, technical seminars, business matchmaking opportunities, and site visits, aimed at translating policy into tangible industrial development outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the media launch of the summit, Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, Gaudentia Kr\u00f6hne, emphasized the importance of the summit in advancing Namibia\u2019s industrialisation agenda and supporting Africa\u2019s transition towards a sustainable, green economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said the summit will play a significant role in championing Namibia\u2019s wider industrialisation agenda and for Africa\u2019s collective green transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis summit did not emerge in a vacuum. It builds on a journey that began with the first major effort to convene local, continental and global interest around Namibia\u2019s green industrial potential in 2024, and which gained further substance through the Global African Hydrogen Summit 2025 held in Windhoek.
