REIAoN Hosts Estonian Cleantech Association
REIAoN partnered with the Estonian Government to host a Namibia-Estonia Green Tech Talk in Windhoek on 20 September, targeting possible collaborations between Namibian and Estonian Renewable and Cleantech companies.
Namibia has taken the lead in the push for green hydrogen energy, developing efficient systems used to convert wind and solar energy to hydrogen. About 40 leaders in the renewable energy sector, academia, cleantech and government (NIPDB) attended the fruitful engagement.
The twin transition of green and digital solutions are being mainstreamed across the world. Namibia has taken the leadership in the push for green hydrogen energy. Developing efficient systems used to convert solar energy to hydrogen to create benefits from the 300 sunny days per year.
Estonia and Namibia already cooperate in the digital sphere with NAM-X, Namibia’s data interoperability system using similar solutions and lessons learned from Estonia’s X-Road.
The Namibia-Estonia Green Technology talk looked into possible areas of cooperation between the two countries. Estonia’s story was told by Erki Ani, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board for the Estonian Cleantech Association. He shared Estonia’s experiences in green tech, hydrogen and the cleantech startup ecosystem.
